Clay Offerings

Clay can be approached in many ways. Some people are drawn to the pottery wheel, while others prefer shaping clay directly with their hands through handbuilding.

At MADE, our clay program is designed to meet you wherever you are starting. Whether you want to try clay for the first time, explore a specific technique, or spend several weeks building skills, there is a place to begin. Many students begin with a short introductory class before moving into a longer series. Others jump directly into an eight-week course. Still not sure where to start?

Our MADE Levels Guide can help you choose what feels right.

All classes are designed for adults and include materials, tools, and studio support. Just show up ready to get your hands dirty.

Try Clay

These classes are designed for anyone curious about clay. They are relaxed, beginner-friendly, and centered around a single experience or project.

Perfect for individuals, date nights, or a creative outing with friends.

We’ve expanded Take it for a Spin to include more time and more clay — we heard you. Giving you a bit more space to get comfortable at the wheel.

Wheel Throwing

The pottery wheel allows you to shape clay through rotation, forming bowls, mugs, and other vessels through repeated motion and practice.

If you’ve been to our previous location, you may notice our series classes look a little different than what we’ve offered in the past. We've expanded these from 12 hours of class time to 20 hours, plus additional open studio sessions included with class — giving you significantly more time to practice, repeat, and settle into the process. If you’re looking for something similar to our old Wheel 101 offering check out Intro to Wheel.

Handbuilding

Handbuilding focuses on shaping clay directly with your hands using techniques such as slab building, coil building, and pinch forms.

If you’ve been to our previous location, you may notice our handbuilding series. Our series classes look a little different than what we’ve offered in the past. We’ve expanded these from 12 hours of class time to 20 hours, plus additional open studio sessions included with class — giving you significantly more time to practice, repeat, and settle into the process.
