Clay Memberships
Membership provides independent studio access for makers who are ready to work responsibly and self-direct their practice. Membership offers access to space, storage, shared tools, community programming, and class discounts. Instruction is not offered during membership hours.
Completion of a Level 2 or Level 3 course is required to become a member.
MADE offers two membership types.
Punch Pass

The punch pass membership provides flexible, limited access for independent studio work.
Access:
Punch passes are purchased in increments of 10 visits
Punch passes expire 3 months after purchase (due to storage limitations)
Each visit should not exceed 5 hours
Studio use is self-directed
Instruction is not offered
Redemption:
All Punch Pass Members must arrive during open shop hours, Wednesday–Sunday.
Shop Hours:
Wednesday–Saturday: 10:00 am–6:00 pm
Sunday: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
Once checked in, members may remain in the studio until 10:00 pm.
Storage:
Punch pass members receive half a shelf (18”x 18”)
Best for:
Makers who attend occasionally
Students transitioning out of classes
Makers who want flexibility without a monthly commitment

The unlimited membership provides regular, ongoing studio access for independent practice.

Access and use:
Memberships are renewed on a monthly basis
7-day studio access via key card
Key card access hours: 10:00 am – 10:00 pm daily
Instruction is not offered
Storage:
Unlimited members receive one full shelf (36” × 18”)
Additional shelves may be added for an additional fee
Storage carts may be rented at an additional cost
Best for:
Makers who work consistently
Makers developing sustained bodies of work

To qualify for membership, students must complete a Level 2 or Level 3 class in wheel or handbuilding. Completing Level 2 or 3 in both disciplines is not required, but is highly encouraged.
All members are required to complete a membership orientation prior to beginning independent studio access.
Orientation includes:
Review of studio layout and access rules
Overview of shared tools and equipment use
Explanation of firing, glaze, and storage systems
Review of studio safety expectations
Completion and passing of a membership readiness test covering basic pottery knowledge and studio rules

Clay:
Clay is purchased separately

Clay may be purchased in 10 lb increments or full 25 lb bags
No outside clay may be brought into the studio
Firing:
Bisque firings are free
Glaze firings are charged and calculated via the Kiln Fire app
Pricing is based on dimensions
Glaze:
Glaze is provided and included in glaze firing costs
Members have access to the full AMACO glaze line
Members may choose to use their own glazes however no discount will be given to firing costs
No glaze may be removed from the studio
Kiln Fire and billing:
All members will have a Kiln Fire profile
A credit card must be attached:
For monthly billing (unlimited members)
For glaze firing charges (all members)
Key card access for unlimited members is managed through Kiln Fire

Membership is built on shared responsibility and trust.
A three-strike system is in place for rule violations. Violations are documented, and repeated issues may result in suspension or termination of membership.
Certain violations result in immediate termination, including:
Stealing clay or studio materials
Placing work on the “ready to fire” shelf without payment, including unpaid glaze firings
Any intentional misuse of studio systems to avoid payment or bypass policies
Punch pass membership work may not be taken outside of the studio at any stage, no exceptions
