Preparing for your “Take it for a Spin!” experience

Take it for a Spin is a one-time introduction to the pottery wheel, designed for complete beginners. We’ll guide you step by step through throwing a small vessel, with plenty of room to explore and get a feel for the process.

Each participant will receive 3 lbs of clay to work with during this 2-hour experience. At the end of class, you’ll choose one piece to be finished by the MADE team through glazing and two kiln firings. If you end up loving both, you can have the second piece finished for an additional $10 to cover firing and glaze costs. Finished work will be ready in about four weeks.

Expect a few laughs, muddy hands, and the chance to try something new. This experience is all about getting a feel for the wheel and seeing if you’d like to continue building your skills.

What to wear

● Clay washes out of most clothing, but we recommend wearing something you don’t mind getting a little dirty

● Shorter nails are helpful, as your hands will be your primary tools
